CVE-2024-50031 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's drm/v3d driver where an active performance monitor is not properly stopped before being destroyed. This can cause a kernel panic when running the kmscube tool with performance monitors enabled via GALLIUM_HUD. The issue occurs because the active performance monitor pointer remains stale after the associated process terminates, leading to invalid memory access on subsequent runs.
