A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ksmbd component involves improper clearing of the FS_OBJECT_ID_INFORMATION buffer before filling it. This can cause up to 31 bytes of unintended data from previous responses to be leaked to the client in compound SMB2 requests. The issue arises because only part of the buffer is overwritten, and the remaining bytes may contain residual data from earlier commands, potentially exposing sensitive information.
