The flaw involved missing validation of the challenge-text length, allowing a malicious access point to send a malformed challenge element that could overflow or underfill a fixed-size buffer. This occurs before association during shared-key authentication, potentially causing out-of-bounds memory writes or leaking stale memory contents. The fix enforces that the challenge text length must exactly match the defined 128 bytes. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/22/2026, 18:30:28 UTC Added: 08/22/2026, 22:51:30 UTC |
