zaino-state has a Non-Finalized State Reorg — No Cycle Detection or Depth Limit 0 The zaino-state package contains a vulnerability in its NonFinalizedState::handle_reorg async function, which recursively traverses parent blocks without a recursion depth limit or cycle detection. This can lead to infinite recursion and 100% CPU usage if a malicious or buggy validator serves a block that references itself or forms a cycle. Additionally, a panic can occur due to an unchecked .expect call when the non-finalized snapshot becomes empty after trimming finalized blocks. These issues can cause denial of service by stalling synchronization and blocking the async runtime. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/31/2026, 19:49:35 UTC Added: 07/31/2026, 21:29:17 UTC |
