CVE-2024-53220 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's f2fs filesystem related to improper accounting of dirty data in the __get_secs_required() function. When checkpoint_disabling and lfs_mode are both enabled, the system may incorrectly calculate free segments, leading to a system panic due to running out of free segments during block allocation. This can cause a kernel BUG and system crash.
