A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's core scheduling dispatch functions was resolved by fixing incorrect assumptions about CPU runqueue (rq) handling. The flaw involved dispatch functions assuming that operations always run on the same CPU's rq, which is not true under core scheduling where dispatch can target sibling CPUs. This could lead to deadlocks and incorrect behavior in rq locking and dispatch operations.
