A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's au1000 network driver caused a crash due to a NULL pointer dereference. This occurred because the netdev_ops structure was accessed before being assigned during PHY attachment when CONFIG_NET_SHAPER was enabled. The issue has been resolved by assigning netdev_ops prior to PHY attachment, preventing the crash.
