CVE-2024-45028 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's MMC (MultiMediaCard) test code where a NULL pointer dereference can occur if a memory allocation fails. Specifically, if the allocation for 'test->highmem' using alloc_pages() fails, the subsequent call to __free_pages(test->highmem) dereferences a NULL pointer, causing a potential kernel crash. The error handling was also corrected to return -ENOMEM instead of success.
