A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's sysctl interface involved the 'cad_pid' entry being incorrectly placed in pid_table[], allowing non-root users to modify it via unshared pid/user namespaces. This was a logical error because 'cad_pid' is global and should only be modifiable by the global root user. The issue was resolved by moving 'cad_pid' to kern_reboot_table[], restricting access to GLOBAL_ROOT_UID only.
