In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: tpm: tpm2-sessions: wait for async KPP completion in tpm_buf_append_salt… (CVE-2026-72151)CVE-2026-72151 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TPM 2.0 sessions implementation was resolved. The function tpm_buf_append_salt() improperly handles asynchronous key pair processing by not installing a completion callback and freeing requests prematurely. This can cause a deferred completion worker to dereference freed memory. The issue occurs automatically during entropy polling without user interaction. The fix involves installing a completion callback and properly waiting for asynchronous operations to complete, preventing use-after-free conditions.
