The pcsd daemon reads these files with root privileges, enabling exfiltration of sensitive data such as API keys or tokens through cluster node communication. Exploitation requires local access and privileged group membership, limiting the attack scope. The flaw affects PCS versions from 0.10.8 onwards, including those shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.4+, 9.0+, and 10.0+ High Availability add-ons.
