A null pointer dereference vulnerability was identified and fixed in the drm_client_modeset_probe function of the Linux kernel's DRM client code. The flaw occurred because the return value of drm_mode_duplicate() was assigned without checking for NULL, potentially causing a crash. This issue has been resolved by adding a check to prevent the null pointer dereference.
