A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's memory management pagewalk code was fixed. The issue involved stale walk->action state escaping the walk_pmd_range() function, causing duplicate callbacks and an out-of-bounds write. This bug was introduced after a commit that changed walk_pud_range() behavior, leading to erroneous retries and memory corruption. The flaw was detected by a local fuzzer and results in a kernel slab out-of-bounds write.
