In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: perf/x86/intel: Improve validation and configuration of ACR masks Currently… (CVE-2026-53370)CVE-2026-53370 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's perf subsystem for x86 Intel processors related to incomplete validation and improper configuration of ACR masks has been resolved. The issues included incomplete validation of user space ACR masks allowing invalid bits, early termination of configuration on invalid masks causing skipped event groups, and stale hardware ACR masks not being cleared before new settings. The fix improves validation by dropping invalid bits rather than aborting, clears stale hardware masks before setting new ones, and ensures full configuration of all ACR events. A theoretical risk remains if a non-leader event in an ACR group is disabled, but this is unlikely to be exploitable in practice. No known exploits are reported.
