CVE-2026-76219: Improper Neutralization of Argument Delimiters in a Command ('Argument Injection') in gitpython-developers GitPythonCVE-2026-76219
0

GitPython versions before 3.1.58 have a vulnerability in certain IndexFile methods that allows arbitrary file overwrite. This occurs because these methods append user-influenced treeish strings to git read-tree commands without proper validation or argument separation, enabling injection of the --index-output option. An attacker with limited privileges can overwrite files at writable paths with crafted git-index blobs, potentially destroying existing content.
