The ciguard FastAPI Web UI lacked several HTTP defence-in-depth headers, including Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, and others, which were flagged by an OWASP ZAP scan. This absence reduces protection layers against attacks such as cross-site scripting (XSS), clickjacking, and risks from compromised third-party scripts. The issue is of minimal concern for local-only deployments but poses increased risk if the UI is publicly hosted. A patch introducing a SecurityHeadersMiddleware was released in version 0.8.2 to inject appropriate security headers, with regression tests added in 0.8.3.
