CVE-2024-41055 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel where a NULL pointer dereference can occur in the pfn_section_valid() function. The issue arises because a READ_ONCE() call added to fix a race condition does not sufficiently prevent dereferencing a NULL pointer. This flaw was addressed by adding a check on the value before dereferencing it.
