A high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's crypto subsystem (acomp) was resolved. The flaw involves improper allocation of asynchronous request context when cloning requests, leading to out-of-bounds writes by providers such as QAT. This occurs because the clone operation only copies the synchronous fallback size, lacking space for the async context. The issue was fixed by allocating a zeroed clone sized for the runtime request and preserving fallback behavior.
