A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NFSv4.1 implementation involving a layout segment leak in the pnfs_layout_process() function has been resolved. The issue occurs when the server returns a new layout stateid while a valid one is still held, causing certain layout segments to leak due to improper cleanup in an error path. The fix restores a missing call to pnfs_free_lseg_list() to properly drain leaked segments.
