In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: octeontx2-af: fix VF bringup affecting PF promiscuous state Mbox handling of… (CVE-2026-72312)CVE-2026-72312 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's octeontx2-af driver caused the promiscuous and all-multicast (allmulti) multicast address control (MCAM) rules of the physical function (PF) to be inadvertently deleted when a virtual function (VF) interface brought up or tore down its interface with certain flags set to false. This occurred because the mailbox handling APIs operated only on the PF, even when requests came from a VF, allowing a VF to clear PF MCAM rules unintentionally. The issue was resolved by adding checks to prevent VFs from disabling PF MCAM rules during interface bringup or teardown.
