A memory leak vulnerability in the Linux kernel's network scheduler (net_sched) related to deferred queueing discipline (qdisc) drops has been resolved. The issue occurs when the network stack cleans up deferred packets but fails to free them properly if the root qdisc does not implement the TCQ_F_DEQUEUE_DROPS flag, causing stranded packets in memory. This results in a resource leak that can degrade system availability over time.
