GHSA-9834-966g-q77hCVE-2026-45866 0 A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's caif_serial driver due to a race condition between the ldisc_close() function and packet transmission. The bug occurs because the tty reference is released prematurely in ldisc_close() while the network device is still active, allowing handle_tx() to access a freed tty pointer. The issue is fixed by deferring the tty reference release to ser_release() after the network device is unregistered, preventing the use-after-free condition.
