A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's i2c smbus implementation allows oversized block transfers to bypass validation checks. This leads to out-of-bounds memory accesses in tracepoints and driver callbacks, causing potential memory corruption. The issue affects certain kernel versions and has been resolved by adding early validation to reject invalid block lengths before any tracepoint or driver callback executes.
