GHSA-9vcr-p3rj-q5q6: sigstore-go has a multi-log threshold bypass via single compromised logCVE-2026-49834
0

sigstore-go versions prior to 1.2.0 contain a vulnerability where the multi-log threshold verification can be bypassed by a single compromised transparency log. This occurs because the threshold counting incorrectly counts verified witnesses per entry or validation path rather than per log authority, allowing a single compromised log to satisfy multi-log threshold requirements and defeat the intended defense-in-depth. Cosign is not affected as it uses a threshold of 1. The issue is fixed in version 1.1.5. No workaround exists other than relying on trusted logs.
