The flaw occurs when the function processes user memory DMA blocks without properly checking the total count, potentially causing writes beyond the fixed-size pgaddrmem array. This issue arises specifically when irdma_setup_pbles is called with lvl set to 0 and total_cnt is zero, leading to a loop that can exceed array bounds. The vulnerability affects the handling of QP/CQ/SRQ rings where user input can cause an overflow of the pgaddrmem array.
