A medium-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's octeontx2-pf driver was addressed by adding an error pointer check after calling the otx2_mbox_get_rsp() function in the otx2_ethtool.c file. This fix prevents improper handling of error responses that could lead to a denial of service (DoS) condition.
