GHSA-c7gf-37rm-rpg6CVE-2026-45984
0

A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's GFS2 filesystem, specifically in the iomap inline data write path. The issue occurs because the inline data buffer head is released prematurely while still referenced, leading to a use-after-free condition when the kernel attempts to write to freed memory. This vulnerability has been fixed by properly managing the buffer head's reference count. Red Hat has released security updates addressing this issue for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 and 9. The system must be rebooted after applying the update for the fix to take effect.
