CVE-2024-50184 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's virtio_pmem driver where the driver could hang indefinitely if the pmem device is in a bad status. This occurs because the driver waits forever for a host acknowledgment during a flush operation. The issue is resolved by adding a device status check at the start of the flush function to return early if the device is not activated.
