CVE-2024-42115 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's jffs2 file system where a potential illegal address access occurs in the jffs2_free_inode function. This issue arises due to uninitialized memory in the jffs_inode_info structure during concurrent high-pressure scenarios, leading to a kernel paging request error. The flaw was fixed by ensuring the target pointer is set to NULL in the jffs2_i_init_once function to prevent use of uninitialized memory.
