CVE-2024-46791 is a deadlock vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mcp251x CAN driver. The issue occurs when an interrupt happens during the mcp251x_open function, causing a deadlock due to improper interrupt disabling while holding a mutex. This has been fixed by replacing disable_irq() with disable_irq_nosync() to avoid waiting on the interrupt handler while holding the mutex.
