CVE-2024-44931 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's GPIO subsystem where userspace can trigger speculative reads outside the gpio descriptor array by providing an out-of-range offset to gpio_ioctl(). This can potentially lead to speculative information leaks. The issue was fixed by sanitizing the offset using array_index_nospec() to prevent such leaks.
