PrivateBin versions prior to 2.0.5 have a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the attachment download link. An attacker can upload a text/html attachment that, when a victim opens the "Download attachment" link in a new tab, executes attacker-controlled JavaScript in the context of the PrivateBin instance. This vulnerability arises because the download link uses an unsanitized blob URL with attacker-controlled MIME type, bypassing sanitization protections. The issue requires file uploads to be enabled and a non-recommended or weakened Content-Security-Policy (CSP) configuration. Instances using the default recommended CSP are protected. This vulnerability is related to and an incomplete fix of CVE-2022-24833. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 08/28/2026, 20:22:59 UTC Added: 08/29/2026, 15:17:49 UTC |
