In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: LoongArch: Fix missing dirty page tracking in {pte,pmd}_wrprotect() When… (CVE-2026-72043)CVE-2026-72043 0 A vulnerability in the Linux kernel on LoongArch architecture caused missing software dirty page tracking during write protection operations, leading to potential data corruption. The issue arises because hardware page table walker sets the _PAGE_DIRTY bit without setting the software-tracked _PAGE_MODIFIED bit, causing the kernel to lose track of dirty pages during copy-on-write fork/clone operations. This can result in pages being incorrectly considered clean and freed without writeback under memory pressure. The vulnerability has been fixed by ensuring the _PAGE_DIRTY bit is propagated to _PAGE_MODIFIED in relevant functions.
