A vulnerability in the Linux kernel related to fs-verity handling has been resolved. The issue involved an unnecessary check for fs-verity being enabled in the setattr_prepare() function. This check incorrectly assumed that filesystems could not have fs-verity files without fs-verity being enabled, which is not the case. The fix removes this check to allow truncate operations on fs-verity files to succeed properly.
