0

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mac80211 wireless subsystem was resolved. The issue involved improper validation of extension-frame layouts before processing received (RX) extension frames. Specifically, unsupported extension subtypes could reach code paths that expected regular 802.11 headers, potentially causing incorrect handling of frame address fields. The fix ensures that only supported extension subtypes (such as S1G beacon extension frames) are processed, with additional safeguards for length and header validation.
