A slab-out-of-bounds vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nilfs2 filesystem was fixed. The issue occurred when a B-tree mapping collapsed into a direct mapping during file truncation, leaving an intermediate node block orphaned in the cache. This orphaned block was later processed incorrectly, causing an out-of-bounds memory access. The fix involves explicitly deleting the leftover intermediate node block during the mapping transformation to prevent this error.
