A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's rtl8xxxu WiFi driver was resolved. The issue occurs when the rx_urb_wq worker runs after the device has been disconnected and memory freed, due to a race condition in stopping the driver. This can lead to dereferencing freed memory under active RX traffic followed by disconnect. The flaw was found by static analysis and fixed by ensuring proper synchronization and cancellation of work queues during teardown.
