The function incorrectly bounds-checks an offset against the virtual memory area's end address rather than the local store size, potentially allowing unbounded access beyond the intended buffer. The fix rejects offsets at or beyond the local store size and clamps the length accordingly, aligning with existing safeguards in related functions.
