CVE-2024-47669 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's nilfs2 filesystem related to improper state management in the error path of the log writing function nilfs_segctor_do_construct(). The flaw causes page cache operations to hang due to uncleared writeback flags and may lead to data corruption by incorrectly removing inodes from the dirty files list. This occurs when errors happen during log construction, and cleanup functions are not properly called. The issue has been fixed by ensuring uniform cleanup on failure and correct flag handling.
