A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's NSM device handling was resolved by bounding the device-reported response length in nsm_sendrecv_msg_locked(). Without this fix, a malicious or buggy backend could report a response length larger than the allocated buffer, causing an out-of-bounds read that discloses adjacent kernel heap memory. The fix clamps the response length to the size of the response buffer, preventing this information disclosure. Well-behaved devices are unaffected.
