CVE-2024-53112 is a medium severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ocfs2 filesystem. It occurs when an ioctl call to add a group to an inode fails, leaving a buffer head cached improperly. Subsequent ioctl calls on the same inode trigger a kernel BUG due to attempts to cache the same buffer head again. This issue has been fixed by uncaching the buffer head on the error path in the ocfs2_group_add function.
