CVE-2024-53121 is a race condition vulnerability in the Linux kernel's mlx5 network driver related to flow table entries (FTE) deletion. The flaw occurs when the active flag of an FTE is checked without proper locking, allowing a race where a new rule with the same match value is added while the original FTE is being deleted. This can lead to a kernel panic due to premature nullification of the hardware deletion function pointer.
