CVE-2024-44999 is a high-severity vulnerability in the Linux kernel's GTP (GPRS Tunneling Protocol) implementation. It involves the improper handling of network headers in the gtp_dev_xmit() function, where IPv4 or IPv6 headers were not properly pulled into the socket buffer before access. This led to use of uninitialized values, as detected by KMSAN. The issue has been fixed by ensuring headers are pulled using pskb_inet_may_pull().
