Akaunting contained a vulnerability in its shared download route that allowed any authenticated portal customer to download files uploaded by other companies. The route did not verify that the requested media belonged to the requesting user's company, enabling unauthorized access by guessing or enumerating media IDs. This issue was fixed by adding an ownership check comparing the media's parent contact ID with the requesting user's contact ID.
