A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's device mapper cache (dm-cache) was resolved that involved incorrect dirty mapping checks during passthrough mode switching. The flaw arose because dm-cache assumed table reloads occur only after suspension, but LVM's table preload breaks this assumption. This caused dirty mappings to be loaded into passthrough mode, risking data loss. The fix moves the dirty mapping checks to the preresume phase to properly support table preloading and removes an unused function.
