CVE-2024-38540 is a vulnerability in the Linux kernel's bnxt_re driver where undefined behavior occurs due to a shift operation on zero. The flaw arises when the function bnxt_qplib_alloc_init_hwq is called with specific parameters (hwq_attr->aux_depth != 0 and hwq_attr->aux_stride == 0), leading to a call to roundup_pow_of_two with zero, which is undefined. This issue was detected by the Undefined Behavior Sanitizer (UBSAN) and fixed in the affected code.
