In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: bpf, sockmap: Fix sk_redir use-after-free in send verdict sk_psock_msg_verdict()… (CVE-2026-74589)CVE-2026-74589
0

A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's BPF sockmap implementation was fixed. The flaw occurs in the sk_psock_msg_verdict() function where a socket reference is mishandled, leading to a potential use-after-free scenario during concurrent sendmsg() calls on the same socket. The issue was detected by KASAN and involves improper reference counting and locking around the sk_redir pointer. The fix involves taking a temporary socket reference while holding the source socket lock to prevent premature freeing.
