IBM Langflow OSS versions 1.0.0 through 1.11.2 contain a vulnerability that allows an authenticated attacker to read arbitrary files on the server filesystem. This includes sensitive files such as secret keys, JWT signing keys, the application database, and other tenants' upload directories. The vulnerability arises from improper validation of file paths in the files parameter of an authenticated build request, enabling path traversal attacks. The issue bypasses the intended LANGFLOW_RESTRICT_LOCAL_FILE_ACCESS containment mechanism for certain file-reading components. This can lead to confidential data exfiltration via embedding file contents in language model prompts sent to configured model endpoints.
