A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's sched/mmcid subsystem related to improper handling of vfork()/CLONE_VM has been resolved. The flaw caused tasks to stall indefinitely in mm_get_cid() during scheduling due to incorrect accounting of vfork()'ed tasks, leading to a failure in acquiring a transitional CID and resulting in machine stalls.
