This occurs when the decoders accept NULL NDR pointers for the LookupName parameter in SCARD_IOCTL_READCACHEA and SCARD_IOCTL_WRITECACHEA operations. If smartcard emulation is enabled, an attacker can send crafted requests with NULL lookup-name pointers, causing the client process to terminate due to a call to strlen() on a null pointer. This vulnerability has a high severity rating with a CVSS score of 7.5 and impacts availability by causing client crashes.
